Autoimmune Encephalitis Exploratory Research Initiative

Our foundation is in the early stages of exploring support mechanisms for children with Autoimmune Encephalitis (AE). AE is a rare neuroinflammatory condition that can pose significant challenges to a child's cognitive development, school participation, and social engagement. Our initial research indicates that with proper treatment and support, children can significantly recover and improve education participation and social engagement.

Our ongoing research efforts currently focus on:

• Landscape Research: Investigating potential avenues, resources, and methodologies that could assist children with cognitive and social recovery.
• Educational Considerations: Studying the challenges children face when transitioning back into classroom environments.
• Community Insights: Gathering information and listening to families to better understand the gaps in long-term post-acute care and support.

We are actively studying these areas to determine how our foundation can best contribute to or partner with future support efforts.
